When attacking, increases the Damage (+2) of the unit's first melee strike.

Details[]

Charge is typically associated with mounted units or equine-type creatures (with the sole exception of the Karagh). It should be noted that the damage bonus of Charge is only applied when attacking a target on the unit's turn, not when under attack and retaliating on an opponent's turn. It is not necessary to move any number of spaces before an attack for Charge to be applied, attacking an already-adjacent unit without moving will still apply the bonus damage.

Charge's bonus damage is only applied to the first attack, not the second (or the third, if the unit also has Extra Strike); if the first attack misses, this bonus damage is lost. The bonus damage is not applied to any physically-based melee abilities other than Strike (e.g. Round Attack). Finally, the damage bonus allows a unit to deal more than the normal stat limit of 10, up to 12 damage in one blow if the unit has a base stat of 10 damage.
