Elves are a thin, fragile-looking folk who typically dwell deep within the forest. Aside from their pointed ears and thin facial features, Elves look very similar to Humans. Although somewhat slimmer than Humans, their lean, muscular limbs give them great agility and speed. Elves can live forever and can only die by violence, but most choose, at a very old age to set sail for The Isle of Last Goodbyes in search of the mystical Isle of Evermor.
Society[]
Elves make their homes in forests where they feel at one with the natural beauty of their surroundings. Due to their immortality, unlike Dwarves and Humans, Elves are never in a rush and have little interest in short-term gains. Elves take pleasure in the finer points of life, including the arts and music, and most practice other skills unrelated to their chosen career paths. Elves value freedom and love above all. They recognize only a few lords, leaders who have proven themselves worthy of this title.
Combat[]
Elves are able to excel in many areas -- hand-to-hand combat, archery, magic and stealth -- making them a tough race to defeat. Slightly weaker in physical strength, Elven infantry and cavalry tend to rely on skill more than brute force. They are cautious warriors, swift but somewhat fragile, so they plan their attacks carefully. The support of their good allies and woodland creatures also adds to their formidability in times of war.
Units[]
Level 1[]
Portait | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Elf Archer | Elves are naturally skilled archers. Experienced Elven Archers are considered magicians to all who wield the bow. Like all of their race, Elven archers feel most at home in the forests and are able to move easily through heavily wooded areas. They also have a naturally high resistance to magical effects. | |
Elf Swordsman | The common Elven warrior is proficient in the use of a long sword in melee combat. These foot soldiers are lightly armored. Like all elves, Elven swordsmen feel most at home in the forests and are able to move easily through heavily wooded areas. They also possess a slightly higher resistance to magic. Due to their fragile bodies, Elven warriors are not powerful or devastating. But they fight skillfully and nimbly, striking their opponents more often than not with every swing of the blade | |
Battering Ram | The battering ram is a standard piece of equipment for almost every civilized race. It is also often a necessary one for conquest and expansion. Made of sturdy wood construction, a ram can withstand a fair amount of damage. | |
Nymph | Nymphs are timid, good-natured magical creatures who bear the appearance of the ideal female. They are at home in the woods and frequently ally themselves with other benevolent creatures of the forest, most often the Elves. While not at all warlike by nature, Nymphs will fight bravely if the welfare of their woodland home is threatened. In combat, Nymphs are very weak. Their main strength is their ability to seduce male humanoids into servitude. Magical in nature themselves, Nymphs have a naturally high resistance to magic. |

Elf Cleric | Usually the most ancient of Elvenkind, Elven Clerics are bound to nature, from whence their power comes. They are keenly aware of the delicate balance of life and are dedicated to seeing it flourish wherever they may be. They are able to project their life energies in the form of a weapon, or if they choose, they can weave it into powerful spells for healing. Like all elves they can pass the forests effortlessly, and can entangle enemies with equal ease in the limbs and leaves of the forest maze. Elven Clerics stand against the powers of the undead and will sacrifice all to see such abominations destroyed. Elven Clerics do not seek power, and as such, it comes to them freely. | |
Elven Scout | Elves typically deploy mounted scouts instead of heavy cavalry. Elven scouts are trained to move quickly, even through dense forests. Armed with long swords, Elven scouts are very capable of defending themselves, but would not stand up to a heavily armored cavalry, such as that of the Orcs. Like all Elves, Elven scouts have a naturally high resistance to magic. | |
Catapult | Catapults are fairly simple but expensive devices widely used by most races. They utilize leverage and the flexibility of the wooden arm to hurl boulders over a great distance. Made of sturdy wood, catapults can sustain a fair amount of damage before rendered useless. Their size and weight also make them very slow to transport. | |
Ballista | Although mechanically different from crossbows, Ballistas function quite similarly. Ballistas are siege machines that are most effectively deployed at long ranges against other units rather than city walls. Their javelins are much more accurate and aerodynamic than the boulder of a catapult. Several ballistas can provide excellent cover for catapults and rams attempting to breach a city's outer wall. |

Fairy | Fairies are benevolent magical creatures that hide deep within the forests. These small winged folk are only a foot or two in height and invisible in forests. Fairies are peaceful creatures by nature, but they are able to defend themselves by striking with pure magical energy at speeds that causes most enemies to wish they never provoked its wrath. Little is known about Fairy society, but Fairies are usually found associating with Nymphs, Elves, and other good creatures of the forests. Elf Ranger | Most Elves possess a fair degree of innate skill in archery and woodland survival, but the Elven Ranger has become a master of both. Elven Rangers prefer to live in the wild, away from civilization. Over time, they have learned not to fight the variety of natural settings, passing effortlessly through forests, crossing mountains, or swimming great expanses of water with ease. Rangers are extremely versatile units which can be deployed as scouts, long range support or light infantrymen. In battle, the combination of exceptional archery skills and the ability to ably defend themselves in melee combat makes these fighters quite potent. | |
Unicorn | The fabled Unicorn is a secretive creature that dwells deep within the forests, far from mankind. Unicorns can be vain creatures for more than any other mythical beast they are the subject of the most legends and fanciful tales. They are sought by fair maidens before their weddings, and wise wizards seeking enlightenment. A Unicorn resembles a white mare with a large, straight horn protruding from its head. According to legend, a Unicorn's horn has magical powers. One such legend states that the horn enables it to disappear and appear elsewhere in the blink of an eye. Another legend claims the horn gives the creature the ability to heal. For this reason, unicorns are frequently hunted by Shamans of greedy races, hoping to obtain the horn for potions. Unicorns have a naturally high resistance to magic and are able to defend themselves aptly in combat. They are also able to move quickly over long distances and through forests. |

Nature Elemental | The Nature Elemental is revered by Elves as a sacred incarnation of the earth's energy, as an avatar of Mother Nature herself. This being is most powerful in densely wooded forests and areas where life abounds. With a tree-like form that allows her to blend seamlessly into the woods around her, the Nature Elemental frequently beckons wildlife to represent her in battle. Resistance to many of nature's natural forces, such as fire, cold, lightning and poison, make the Elemental particularly difficult to destroy. In battle, Nature Elementals will align themselves only with other good races such as the Elves, Dwarves, Halflings and High Men. In such situations, Elementals do not fear death, as their destruction will merely return their organic energy to the earth from which it came, giving birth to life anew. |
