Race relations reflect the feelings between the races. Race relations have a fixed initial status, reflecting one race’s prejudices towards another. Races with similar alignments tend to have better relations. Race relations affect diplomacy, unit morale, city morale, and the likelihood of units and heroes joining your cause.

There are five possible race relations. Each corresponds to a range of values on a 100-point scale.

Various actions can improve or worsen the relations between the races.

* Diplomatic actions can alter race relations with races not directly involved in the action. For example, declaring war on the Elves will likely hurt race relations with the Halflings, but help race relations with the Orcs.
